Ottawa River Flood – Forecast for June 3
June 2; OTTAWA RIVER REGULATION PLANNING BOARD FORECAST
With spring runoff continuing to decrease in the Abitibi-Timiskaming region, less excess runoff from this region is being passed to downstream areas. As a result, levels are expected to continue declining at all locations along the Ottawa River over the next week. Possible thunderstorms over the weekend could temporarily slow the rate of decline in some locations.

On Friday May 31 water levels finally dipped below 60.00m and reached 59.82m Saturday, and 59.72m on Sunday. Water levels are forecast to continue dropping at -8 to -10cm/day until they reach seasonal levels. Ground water levels are dropping very slowing because of the extreme saturation but in-land homes should see lower volumes of water being pumped and should stop completely later this week.
