15) SANDHILLS UPDATE
The design is in progress; the open house to view the plans is expected early in April. The design will also include a complete vision and renovation plan for the existing facility. The new centre will offer every resident new social, physical, health, and learning opportunities in a bright, relaxing, and friendly surrounding. The vision will also include strategic priorities, like emergency power and shelter capabilities, so the facility is ready for current and future needs. The prospect of a summer start to construction is very exciting but we still have significant fundraising to accomplish by June. We need to average nearly $75 per household to make our goal. With committed funding now at $1,143,000, up $31,000 since January, we have come a long way. If you haven’t done your part, please consider doing it soon. All donations over $20 are tax deductable.
