The FireSmart Neighbourhood Recognition Program was set up to help bring communities together to tackle the wildfire risk and mitigation factors. In association with FireSmart Canada, West Carleton Disaster Relief is holding an online information session to introduce potential program leaders to the program on Feb. 20, from 1 PM to 3 PM. You can email WCDR at WildFireReady@WestCarletonRelief.ca to receive the Zoom link or receive another copy of the Wildfire Ready flyer.
West Carleton Disaster Relief was formed in the aftermath of the 2018 tornadoes by five of West Carleton’s Community Associations. WCDR’s mission is to improve our community’s emergency preparedness through planning and education and to enhance the effectiveness of the volunteers who respond to future events through the acquisition of supplies and critical infrastructure.
