CBBCA AGM elects new board and approves Constitutional amendment
The CBBCA’s 2015 Annual General Meeting saw the election of 22 Directors and the approval of a Constitutional Amendment that modernizes our perspective on Board meetings.
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2015 CBBCA AGM. This year’s Board:
President – Ian Glen, VP – Heather Lucente, Treasurer – Donna Pritlove, Secretary – Cindy Pratt, Past President – Len Russell, Bar – Penny Johnson, Canteen – Anita Kamps, Membership – Nita Bird, Property – Ian Thurston, Youth Sports – Gayla Weatherall, At Large – Virginia Blondin, Karen Shiller, Graham Ginsberg, Shannon Keeling, David Johnson, Linda Lachance, Ivo Mokros, Anne Mokros, Susan Harford, Jo-Ann Campbell, Mick Weston, Angela Bernhardt.
We are grateful to the 17 Directors who stood for re-election, Nita Bird and Graham Ginsberg who are new to the team, Angela Bernhardt who joins the board from the Sandhills team, and Linda Lachance and Heather Lucente who are re-joining the board after some well deserved time away.
The Constitution Amendment recognizes our philosophy that your Directors’ work outside the Board Meeting is more important than attendance at meetings, and that technology – through email discussions, e Voting, file sharing, and teleconferences – makes the notion of a monthly meeting less important. Specifically, the amendment recognizes a leave of absence status which allows Directors who are away or unable to attend to withdraw from the quorum count and reduces the frequency of mandatory Regular Board Meetings to quarterly.
2015 is off to a great start.
