Youth Lounge Opening January 16th
The Youth Lounge is a safe, inclusive, dedicated space for social, game, and recreation activities at the Northwind Centre. If young people want to find a place to hang for a while, watch some uTube with friends, are up for a game, or need to do home work, the Lounge is your venue. The Lounge is open for grades 7 to 9 every Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and for grades 9-12 every Thursday from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Pizza for a buck, drinks for 50 cents.
The Lounge is an unstructured recreation & leisure space that we’ve equipped with consoles, four screens, pool, games, couches, beverages and great staff to help members create their own fun. Hannah Weston, is our lead Program Coordinator, later on she will also be the facilitator for cooking experiences, out-trips, fitness programs, paint or spa nights, and beyond.
There is no charge to become a member of the Lounge but registration, proof of age, and sign in are required and, like all safe places, there are a few rules. You can Register by completing the information below.
The 7-9 Lounge is a CBBCA program presented with the generous support of the Carp Ridge Learning Centre (CRLC). CRCL is a charity whose mission is to support local community health and sustainability. It has hosted many events and programs since its inception in 1999: the first Forest School in North America, field trips for local school children, company retreats, the Carp dinner-talk series, a local healing circle series, child and youth camps and a significant community garden and dinner program at the Constance Bay Legion.
