December saw another $31,000 contributed to Sandhills from donations, 60 membership renewals, and 17 five-year memberships. The $31,000 turns into $62,000 in committed funds once matched by the City of Ottawa. This pushed the project to $1,112,000 in committed funds and cash transferred to the City reached $150,000. The CBBCA Rink officially opened on Tuesday December 17, the puddle rink and skating circle are expected to open by Saturday December 21. An exceptional week of events and donations increased the committed funding for Sandhills to $1,052,000. Although the math isn’t straight forward we expect we can go to tender with a viable, but very basic, project when our committed funding hits $1,500,000… so with city matching we have about $250,000 to go before we can get the basic construction started….
Last week, following another exceptional production run, the Rural Root Theatre Company doubled it’s contribution to the Sandhills project with a second $5,000 cheque. The CBBCA is grateful to West Carleton’s little theatre company that does.
The week-end of November 2nd and 3rd, 2013 raised $47,000 for project Sandhills through three successful events and 3 great event teams. The money is matched by the City bringing the total to $94,000. The Sandhills Soiree was first in on November 2nd, raising $1,900 for the project with a fun evening of wine, fashion, beauty, and…
