Ferdinand and Friends Animal Rescue Network, Dr. Vetamin Ottawa Mobile Veterinary Services, Constance and Buckhams Bay Community Association, and Stacey’s Mobile Pet Services have organized the first-ever Community Veterinary Day.

The event aims to address the lack of veterinary services for rural families and communities, which creates difficulties in accessing care for pets. Instead of opening a clinic, the organizers have brought a fully equipped mobile veterinary facility to West Carleton. The clinic, which is non-judgmental and understands the challenges of finding veterinary care, offers discounted services provided by Dr. Vetamin and his team.

Additionally, Stacey’s Mobile Pet Services is offering $10 nail trims, with $5 from each trim donated to the rescue network. Nail trims will be available on a walk-in basis during the event.

The clinic will take place on Sunday, July 30th, from 11 am to 4:30 pm at the Northwind Centre (Constance and Buckhams Bay Community Centre).

To book a veterinary appointment, interested individuals must complete the form provided Please Click Here. Appointment spots and times are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and confirmations will be sent via email by Ferdinand and Friends Animal Rescue Network.

As part of the TD Summer Reading club, the library is hosting programs Tuesday mornings in July and August for various age groups. Please register online at BiblioOttawaLibrary.ca.

The Zone, a West Ottawa Community Resource Centre Youth program, will offer youth an opportunity to meet new people and try new activities. Additionally, this will be an opportunity for youth to learn new things in the kitchen.
